Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Lucknow
The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Lucknow, established on 19th February 1981, is a premium research institute working under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, the apex body of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, coordinating research in Ayurveda The mandate of the institute is Clinical Research related on lifestyle diseases and non-communicable disorders focusing on Eye Diseases. The institute is NABH AYUSH Entry Level certified (EAC-2023-0008), NABL certified [NABL-M(EL)T-02906] and BIS certified (CRO/QM/L-8004472). The institute provides health care services through Out-Patient Department (General, Eye, Ano-Rectal and Geriatric), In- Patient Department, Netra Kriyakalpa (specific Ayurvedic local therapeutic procedures for eye disorders), Ksharasutra therapy with operation theatre facility for treatment of Ano-rectal disorders and other para-surgical procedures. A well equipped Ayurvedic Ophthalmic OPD is running in the institute that provides diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services to the patients for prevention & management of eye diseases through Ayurveda. Other facilities includes Clinical Pathology and Biochemistry Laboratory, Pharmacy, Library, A-HMIS, Public health research programs (WCH & EMRS). This institute is conducting Fundamental, Clinical & Drug research in the field of Ayurveda. The institute is having research collaborations with Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow; Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow; Institute of Applied Dermatology (IAD), Kerala and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. The total land of the premises is 0.602 hectare and situated in between 29036.877’N and 790-24.277’E at an elevation of 5506 feet. The Institute has its own excellent building with the total built-up area of the Institute building is 2560.17 Sq. meter. The institute has a well-developed herbarium and museum with Acroynm “RKT” as well as the facilities of OPD & Panchkarma. The institute has two medicinal plant gardens at Ranikhet & Chamba having area of 1.214-hectare, 0.405 hectare respectively, and a Musk deer Research Centre at Mehruri, Bageshwar having 0.809 hectare. Presently 21 permanent officers/officials are working at different positions in this Institute.
